【日常編?】「★ELSA_SPEAK]と「ELSAサポートセンターへのお手紙」と私
と題しまして小話を1つ。
ELSA_Speak を開始して、2Wあまり経過しました。
ELSA_SpeakのサポートセンターのBrannonねーさんは
何でも聞いてや?
ELSA_TEAMでサポートするさかいに
というてはったので、
2Wの結果を整理して
以下のチョー適当な文面でMAILを投げてみました。
朝6:30にMAILなげたら、12:19に返信がありました。
サポートセンターとの時差はどれくらいあるのかな?興味深い。
以下を読んでみると、現時点のAIの言語認識処理では、
contracted words or linked words は、まだ、うまく処理
できない(研究中)なので、アプリの文書の単語を正確に
適度なスピードで音読してちょ!とのことです。
ーーーーーーーーーーーーーーーーーーーーーーーーーーーーー
Trying to link the pronunciation of these 2 words as "wanna"
would result it the last syllable to be marked as incorrect.
When learners speak too quickly, they tend to shorten (or contract)
their words to make it easier and more comfortable to pronounce.
However, if they do this, the Artificial Intelligence (A.I.)will mark it as wrong because,
as mentioned earlier, learners have to pronounce the words exactly as shown in the app.
As such, at the moment, it is important for users to articulate well for each sound
and pronounce at an adequate pace (i.e. not too fast, not too slow),
in order to score well in the app.
Our team is completely aware of this and is trying to improve our A.I. technology
to recognize more sophisticated pronunciations such as contracted words or linked words.
However, as more research and experimenting have to be conducted to improve
the A.I. voice recognition, it might take a while for the development of this technology.

Dear XXXXXXi,
Thanks for your inquiry!
This is Brannon Cho, and I'm glad to be of assistance once again.

Firstly, your hard work and dedication to practicing your English pronunciation is
highly commendable and we're glad to see Yo so motivated!

In addition, we are truly grateful for recommending ELSA to
your friend and indeed 91% is a very high score
that is comparable to that of a native speaker.

With regard to your inquiry, what your friend stated is true.
ELSA grades users based on the exact wording (text shown) in the lesson.
Just like the example you used, if the app shows "want to",
you would have to pronounce it as "want to".
Trying to link the pronunciation of these 2 words as "wanna"
would result it the last syllable to be marked as incorrect.
When learners speak too quickly, they tend to shorten (or contract)
their words to make it easier and more comfortable to pronounce.

I hope this helps!
I look forward to your reply and should you have further queries,
please don’t hesitate to reply to this email.
Thank you and have a wonderful day!
Warm Regards,
Brannon Cho

Dear Bannon

Anyway,I continue ELSA_Speak LESSON.
PS>
I recommend ELSA Speak to my friends.
And I surprised that he got
 91 % ASSESMENT SCORE. WOW!!
In YOUTUBE I saw Canadian People

My friend is same as Canadian Level.
He alse got 835POINTS in TOEIC TEST.
 My GREAT friend says:
ELSA_Speak only recognize WORD LEVEL
 PRONUNCIATION and
 ELSA don't recognize syllable like
"I want" is OK ,but "I wanna" is NG
He also said that to get high score in ELSA
You can speak slowly, but speak every words
 separately and cocenerately.
You don't have to speak quickly.
If Any advise ? Please RESPONSE me.
Regards,
Bannon
